The basics
Zapademy is a place where kids make games by chatting with Zappy, an AI helper, and play games other kids made. By using it you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. Kids: please read these with a parent.
- Be kind. No bullying, rude words or scary stuff, in games or anywhere else.
- Keep yourself and others private: no real names, schools, towns, phone numbers or links.
- One person per account. Keep your password and recovery code secret.
- Don't try to break the site, cheat the leaderboards, or get around the Zap limits.
We can hide games, remove scores, or close accounts that break these rules.
Your games
- Your game ideas are yours. When you publish a game, you let us show it on Zapademy so other kids can play, like and rate it.
- A grown-up on our team reviews every game first. The game rules say what we approve.
- Zappy is an AI and can make mistakes. Games may have bugs, and Zappy's answers aren't always right.
Zaps ⚡
- Zaps pay for building with Zappy. Each action has a set price, shown on the button before you send.
- Zaps are only spent when Zappy delivers: a new game version or an explanation. Errors, Stop and chat-only replies are free.
- Every account gets free monthly Zaps. Monthly Zaps you don't use roll over for one extra month, then expire. Zaps from Zap Packs, codes and bonuses don't expire.
- Zaps aren't money. They can't be exchanged for cash, sold, or moved to another account.
- We may change prices and allowances. We'll tell you before a change affects a paid plan.
Paid plans and refunds
- Only a parent or guardian, signed in to a parent account, can buy a plan or a Zap Pack. Payments go through Stripe. Prices are on the prices page, in US dollars, plus any sales tax.
- Bolt and Thunder are for one account: one child, or you if you make games yourself. Family is for up to 4 of your linked children, who share one Zap balance (your games use it too); Zaps a child had before come back to them if they leave the Family plan.
- Plans renew automatically each month or each year until you cancel. Yearly plans still give their Zaps month by month. You can cancel any time under "Billing and receipts" on your parent page: the plan keeps working until the end of the period you paid for, then becomes the free plan. Zaps from Zap Packs are kept.
- Switching to a bigger plan, or from monthly to yearly, is charged right away for the rest of the period. Switching to a smaller plan is credited to your next bills.
- If a payment fails, Stripe tries again for about two weeks and the plan keeps working meanwhile. If it still fails, the plan ends.
- Refunds: if you're not happy, write to support@zapademy.com within 14 days of a payment and we'll refund it. Zap Packs can be refunded within 14 days if none of their Zaps were used.
Everything else
- We work hard to keep Zapademy running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of bugs. It is provided as it is.
- We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll say so on the site and email parents.
- Parents can close their child's account any time by writing to us.
